Weight Watchers Collaborates With Google Health Enterprise

October 1, 2026

Weight Watchers announced a collaboration with Google Health Enterprise, combining wearable technology and AI-powered health insights with Weight Watchers’ clinical weight health program. Available now through select Weight Watchers for Business client programs, this collaboration provides employers and payers a new way to activate their weight health benefits, helping more members get started, stay engaged and build the daily habits that support better outcomes.

According to management: “As employers and payers navigate this new landscape, they need a partner that supports members at every step of their weight health journey—from creating a program experience that drives daily engagement to providing tailored clinical care that meets their unique needs,” said Scott Honken, PharmD, Chief Commercial Officer, Weight Watchers. “Our collaboration with Google Health expands access and strengthens connection across that journey, complementing personalized experiences like our GLP-1 Success Program and Med+ virtual clinic to help deliver the outcomes clients count on and members expect.”

Highlights of the collaboration include:

  • Access to Google Fitbit Air and Google Health Premium1 for eligible Weight Watchers for Business clients and members after completing required activity and duration milestones.
  • A more connected experience that allows members to connect a Fitbit Air to their Weight Watchers account and access additional insights around activity, sleep, and health.
  • More comprehensive tracking on and off the scale, helping members see progress through daily movement and other health signals that can reinforce long-term behavior change.

The company explained that participants in select employer-sponsored programs can connect the wearable devices directly to their accounts to track physical activity, sleep, and other health metrics. WW International noted that the integration of wearable technology and artificial intelligence insights aims to support habit building and overall health management for participating members.

Commentary

Rising consumer use of GLP-1 weight-loss drugs is still pressuring demand for its legacy behavioral diet programs. There was a brief 9%–12% jump in WW stock price during the Sept. 29 session on the WeightWatchers–Google Health Enterprise collaboration: eligible members in select employer programs can get Fitbit Air wearables and AI-driven health insights tied to Weight Watchers plans.

However, that stock price jump was short-lived. That tech tie-up supports engagement in the GLP-1 era, but it does not erase the structural hit to traditional behavioral subscriptions as medication-led weight loss gains share. The fact remains that most of WW revenues (76% as of the Q2 2026 performance press release on August 5)  still comes from non-medical programs. Investors appear to be treating the Google news as incremental while staying focused on that longer-run demand shift.

WW’s shares are volatile and have had 79 moves greater than 5% over the last year. The recent move down indicates that the market considers this news meaningful but not something that would fundamentally change its perception of the business.

  • Commercial weight loss companies/centers (Weight Watchers, NutriSystem, jenny Craig, Medifast) saw revenues fall by 24% as a group in 2025, to $1.86 billion, as they struggle to pivot and deal with strong competition from the GLP-1 drugs.
