Final figures are in. Personnel at Beverage Digest reported to Marketdata that the retail value of all carbonated soft drinks was $79 billion in 2015 (up 2.1%). The market share accounted for by DIET soft drinks, however, fell 1.1% to 25%. That translates into a diet soft drink retail market worth $19.75 billion. That’s down 5.5% from 2014. Seems like Americans continue to move away from diet sodas to bottled water, juices and other drinks with no artificial sweeteners, in their quest for “clean eating”.
